The Leica M-Monochrom

Yesterday, Leica announced an eight thousand dollar black and white digital camera called the M-Monochrom. At first I thought it was the ultimate in the emperor has no clothes, but by removing the need for color filter arrays, the sensor can capture more light, and retain higher levels of detail. It’s still pretty amusing, but slightly less ridiculous.
